Hi, I’m Pat, from Melbourne.
I’ve used dating apps overseas in the past but never at home in Australia. Life has changed a lot lately, & I’m feeling a bit lonely, so taking baby steps on this platform. Late last year, I finally got over a long-term relationship that turned into a long-term situationship. I was simultaneously wrapping up employment & job-hunting, so the timing wasn’t right to do this, but now feels right. I’m in a headspace I’ve never been in before. You might call it a 7-year itch. I don’t have any family in Melbourne, and while I love my friends & always will, I need to get better at keeping up appearances. I was once very extroverted but have become more introverted & reclusive in recent years. There’s definitely a better balance to be found. My career has pivoted from brand/client-side marketing for big organisations, to agency-side marketing for a small business. 20ish years in buildings with hundreds of colleagues to working alongside 3 blokes in a small office/warehouse for the past few months. In a non-pervy way, this pivot to complete lack of interaction with women in the workplace is something I’m struggling with - on some level, I think that loss of day-to-day contact might be contributing to me being here on this platform. I love to travel, but because of the new job, I’ll be waiting another 11-12 months for the chance to pop overseas again. I’d love to be planning that trip with someone in 6-9 months from now. I really want to rewatch one of my favourite TV shows, La Reina del Sur. It’s 150+ hour-ish episodes, so having company for that would be nice 🤪 I want to be here for someone. Be that to if you just don’t want to be alone/lonely, or in moments when support or help is needed, or when something is funny & it’s just better to have someone to laugh with, or to have sing-alongs in the car (note: Spotify wrapped said my music age was 56. Make of that what you will!)
