ETA: First, let me start by saying if after reading my profile and aren't a paying member yet, then sign up and let's talk. Secondly, I'll tell you right now that if you ever ask me for money before we're married you might as well save your time. Now to let's get down to it. I'm looking for real love with a godly, Christian woman to spend the rest of my life with. To see the kind of love I'm talking about, watch the last episode of Everwood. Hear what Bright says to Hannah, Amy says to Ephram, and Ephram says to Amy. Below is a detailed description of who I am and who I am looking for. I'm serious about this and NOT looking to play games. So if you have a true interest in me you will show it by reading my profile. If you can't invest the time to read my profile then move on. Doing so will show me that you're taking the first serious step in showing interest in me. If you don't have the time to at least do that as a first step then I don't have the time for you. I don't need your "I love you", "I'm interested”, OR “I want to know you" when you didn't even bother reading the below. Call me old fashioned but I look forward to the day when I can sit in a rocking chair beside my bride and we can look back fondly at all the memories we've created together. I never again want to experience the sad misfortune of watching dreams, hopes, and a legacy vaporize into nothingness. For those who liked "On Golden Pond" you know what I mean when you see Henry Fonda and Kathryn Hepburn in their roles. Yet also has that indescribable “feel” to it that Amy & Tye have on "Heartland". I am strong and yet weak. I am confident and yet have my doubts. I am a romantic and yet I do not lose touch with reality. I am honest and sometimes to a fault. I believe I am fairly mature in my Christianity but there are still a lot of things I do not understand and/or have not bought into. I am somewhat adventurous but pretty conservative. I'll try ALMOST anything once. I question with boldness and am not apt to just swallow something because someone says so. Matt. 6:33 is my Life Verse and God has tested me in this area. Christ is the most important Person in my life and I'm looking for my #2. My wife would feel the same way. I understand the Great Commission is not the Great Suggestion. She would believe the same. I am looking for a strong, mature Christian. I will never understand how Jesus Christ was brutally beaten, then crucified, took the wrath of God upon Himself, and then any Christian when asked how important their Faith is to them say it's "Not Important" or only "Somewhat Important". To me, being a Christian means dying to yourself, totally surrendering to the Lord, picking up your cross, and following Jesus. It is much more than "asking Jesus into your heart" and "accepting Jesus as part of your life". Jesus removes the old heart (Jer. 17:9) and gives you a new one (Eze. 36:26). And Jesus desires to be your life - not part of it. It means being totally devoted to God and living for Christ. It is much more than ascribing to some set of intellectual facts such as the basic tenets of who Christ is, what He's done, and such. Dying to myself and living for Christ. It means obedience without legalism and liberty without license. Jesus said, "If you love Me, you will obey Me." (Jn 14:15) And John said, "By this we know that we love Him, if we obey Him." (1Jn 2:3) It means that 2nd Timothy 3:16 is true and means what it says. It means God is God and we are not. It means that we are a Creation in His Image and we don't get to create Him in our image. It means God is Who He is and we can't make Him into whatever we want Him to be. It means total surrender. It means I am a slave to Jesus and yet I have more freedom than I ever could with Him as my Master. It means that I have accepted Jesus as the ONLY way and there is NO other way. It means that I have accepted His free gift and have been given Eternal Life with Him without me having to give anything at all. Nor could I have. It means I have been delivered from eternity in Hell (yes Virginia, there is a very real, actual Hell) and have been made a child of the ONLY Living God and have inherited everything that Jesus Himself has. It means that though I strive to enter the Narrow Gate and obey my King in all I do that I can still find the Grace to be forgiven when I fail to do so AND that I extend that grace to others when they confess they have failed too. I means there is more than I could ever say or will ever know. I live in WA State and have since 1995. I'm retired Navy. Love the outdoors. "Tailfeathers" has been my handle since I was a young boy. My first name is Royce which like me is pretty unique. My last name is Van Blaricome which is Dutch/German. But I LOVE Filipino food. Pretty much all foods. From all I've found I am the only person in all of History to have that name which makes me very easy to find and that makes sure I stay out of trouble! LOL. Right now and for the past several years I haven't had a lot of "fun" or "leisure" activities in my life. I have a custom 2700sqft loghome on 5acres with a gorgeous view of glacier-laden Three Fingers. Just that would probably keep me plenty busy since I'm here by myself but I also breed and show four different breeds of chickens, and waterfowl too. I also have had geese, a dogs, cats, guineas, peafowl, and 2 llamas. Should the Lord see fit to bring me a Suitable Helper, I would enjoy having a fishing partner, perhaps hunting partner or at least Camp Mate, maybe some hiking and backpacking again. Though age is taking its toll. I enjoy outdoor/landscape/nature/wildlife photography and have a fairly new Canon 7D that I got to transition from slides but still haven't come close to mastering it. I would also like to buy an RV and travel to see more of this country with thoughts of becoming an itinerate preacher at various campgrounds as we travel the country. I was in the Navy for 20yrs and saw a lot of the World. Wouldn't rule out travel abroad but certainly would like to see more of this country. Spending 3-4mos in Alaska is on my Bucket List. A Bowhunting & Photo combo safari in Africa is too. One day I see myself traveling the USA in an RV. Possibly as that itinerate preacher. I started a recruiting company that specializes in placing Civil Engineers with private consulting firms, in 2003. I was blessed beyond words to have this job and I best not start talking about it or this will be awhile to read. Happy to later on if'n ya would like to know more. Suffice it for now to know that I closed the business earlier this year but am open to some part-time working at it again. I let my light shine there and see it as a ministry too. Doing so also helps keep me accountable. I have to say this was my dream job and I've got it set up now where I can work from anywhere. That should tell you a lot about me. I've always found Asian women, especially Filipinas, to be very beautiful inside and out. God Bless, Royce
