Retired wildlife officer (game warden),, author, adventurer, great cook, intelligent and funny. I am very real and can easily be found on the internet to verify who I am. I have never been married, no children, and live alone. I have not been in a relationship for a long time, and it’s not because I was in prison or stranded on a deserted island in the middle of nowhere. My story is very unusual and one that I would relive if necessary. I took care of my elderly mother for nearly 20 years before she passed away in October 2024 at the age of 96. Telling you that I took care of her with no help from other family members would sound like sour grapes. So, I’ll just chalk it up to a fact of life. I live in a house and in an area I love, surrounded by the Maine woods and plenty of woodland creatures. I’m only about a half hour from the Atlantic Ocean and as much fresh lobster as you can eat! Oh, but I just learned some bad news, so in the spirit of coming clean, here it is: I was recently diagnosed with Lyme disease, and it is not going to be an easy road to recovery. For those who don’t know what Lyme disease is, I was bitten by a tick some time ago that was bearing a nasty strain of bacteria. Ticks are like mosquitoes and lamprey eels, in that they don’t seem to serve any useful purpose! I’ll be fine, but it’ll definitely take some time.
