Well what can I say about myself? I'm a happy, decent, honest and caring man who knows how to treat a woman like a lady. find it hard to define myself in a few paragraphs but here I go. I am definitely a bit of a loner- I have a very independent streak but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy the company of others. Its just that I don't meet many people that I enjoy being with for any length of time. When I do connect with somebody I like however, I am the best, nost generous and devoted friend that you could meet. I don't like small talk but love intetesting conversation. Most of the great experiences I have had have involved travel, working abroad and exploring and I have chosen freedom to do what I want rather than commitment to another. I want to change this now however as I feel there is more to life than this. I have always believe that finding my soulmate/lover/partner will start with a spark- a romantic moment- a rush of blood to the head. In practice, I have had a lifetime of exciting but eventually disappointing relationships that have had as many lows than highs (but never boring). I am wiser and more philosphical now and am ready to embrace another chapter in my life. A chapter that I want to share with a partner that will complement me and accept me for who I really am.

I read some of my father's books when I was 12 and decided I was going to try to save the world from the mess it was in. It is a lot worse now but it can be saved. In the process I neglected to have a life of my own. Now I would like the things I never had, like a wife and children. I am a young, old guy. Not an old, old guy.

Nice considerate, generally easy going guy, hardworking, positive, quietish but I hope you will think interesting and fun. I look after myself well and keep fit. I am also quite adventurous and have done many things like scuba and skiing. I like animals, and children (usually)sport, keeping fit, music,reading, travel etc. I work in the caring profession, am a church goer though not regularly and have a beautiful cat. I have been to the far east before but not the Phillipines and I have a firm intention to visit there in the early part of next year so I hope to find my future life partner then.Also I have put some stipulations about the sort of girl I am looking for but these are not set in stone and some of these may well be disregarded for the right girl. By the way, I am may be a nice guy but I am thorough and not a fool so please dont ask me for any money at least until we have got to know each other well and in person.Thats all for now really. Hmm, where to start ? Looking for that very special person which will equal perfect happiness. I'm a guy who knows a LOT about Asian culture - having spent a month a year for ovr 10 years in South-East Asian and MUCH more. A useful basic point to mention !! :) I'd describe myself as the strong broad-shouldered type, highly educated but a very down to earth fun-loving ordinary guy who gets on with nearly everybody, a practising Solicitor, and managing-director of a company, both part-time from home. I've had ups and downs in life and love but I never give up hope of finding my special girl. It's really hard to describe yourself so I asked a life-long friend (without payment :) ) to do it and so here it is (uncensored ! ): "He's complicated but a little attention will unravel him, neither extrovert or introvert, good cynical sense of humour, very loyal and determined in many aspects of his life, sensitive and patient with his friends but everybody would also say a leader-type, he's a strong and confident family-type man who has a small group of good friends rather than a wide spread of lesser ones, and tends to be very paternalistic with women which can sometimes get him into hotwater with the more independent type of woman when it can be misinterpreted as being too dominant which I doubt he really is, he's almost too much of a romantic which means that he can fall in love easily and probably still wants to even at his age !, he's definitely funloving and youthful in his outlook and interests which helps as he's exceptional with kids as everybody will tell you, used to be a good teacher once (bet he's forgotten that), and of course he's a very cosmopilitan (reasonably well travelled) bod with a global outlook on culture which is useful given his past Asian connections and the way the World now is, and he's probably quite practical and does DIY although I suspect you can hear him cursing a mile off. He listens to Radio 4 too much although I think he still listens to Radio 1 and Capital FM - not a fossil yet ! I better add, as he'd never say it, that he's also a very traditional gentleman which I suspect is a product of his upbringing and that makes him often stand out from others in many situations." I will humbly add as follows !!. I do not warrant the truth or accuracy of the above :) Family is important to me. Loyalty is everything. My favourite sports are running and tennis. I like quiet times in and out and also fun times and the occasional night out to a nice club plus the odd bit of very loud music if in the mood :) I love all the usual things including a very wide range of music from David Guetta to Black-Eyed Peas to Crowded House to Phil Collins to Haydn and Bach. (But not keen on jazz.) I have a passion for reading and history (political social and military), like cooking, art and cinema, and DVDs at home. Simply easy-going when it comes to things to do eg nothing makes me happier than a quiet day on the beach or in the mountains with the love of my life (or a book if you're not available) a picnic and some wine. I'm also very Christian at heart albeit middle of the road (church maybe twice a month for an hour) and I believe belief is a very personal thing and do not impose my values on others. You must follow your conscience and heart and it doesn't matter to me what your beliefs are. Hi . Im a retired Britsh soldier. I was a Parachutist. I like to go to the gym, and swim most mornings. I like to travel, France , and Crete being my favorite. I speak Welsh, English and French. I love walking my dog Louis along the beach where I live. I have a small holding where I grow a lot of my food. I keep chickens and pigs, goats, ducks and horses. I have a small lake and a small river, its very beautiful. I have done katate for over 25 years and am a 2nd dan. I love rugby watching but had to give up playing (I think my age caught up with me). I also enjoy music and playing my guitar. I like to watch old movies on a winters sunday afternoon, while eating friut. while serving in the army i fought in a few wars and I seen a lot of bad things, which I believe made me a stronger person. It has also made me a better person and love life more, I love what I do now and hope the lady in my life will also love it. I have a lot to offer. I am a gentle man, happy all the time. But many friends will tell you I am one of the good guys, but dont cross me. I dont like aggresion agaist my friends and family, or my dog haha. Or my other animals. As for smoking I like to smoke a pipe. As for drinking I dont realy, I have a class of wine christmas and the odd pint while watching rugby, but very rare.
